The Catalyst 6509 switch is a member of Cisco Systems Catalyst 6500 core layer three modular switching devices. The Catalyst 6500 series enables resilient, scalable, intelligent and high performance multi layer switching. This bundle also includes the 6500-SFM2 (switch fabric module )blade to maximize the 6500’s total throughput. When enabled with the sup2 management cards installed in this system, the total switching capacity is increased from 64 Gbps to 256 Gbps. The modular chassis solution allows the client to easily migrate configurations and network changes in the future.
