The wireless port implements the government-endorsed Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) to ensure superior security. The Altitude 300 and Summit 300-48 work together to authenticate users, employing IEEE 802.1x and a RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) server to grant or deny network access. Integrated or detachable antennas establish radio-frequency links between the Altitude 300 and terminals running 802.11a/b/g.
