The Summit48 15020 is a multilayer Gigabit Ethernet switch. It features a non-blocking 17.5Gbps backplane that can handle over 10.1 million packets per second of throughput. The 15020 Summit48 is rack mountable and occupies 2U of rack space. This model has 48 10/100BaseTX ports 2 populated 1000BaseSX GBIC slots 2 unpopulated redundant GBIC slots and Full Layer 3 software. It is important to note that although this unit appears to have four GBIC ports only two of them can be operational at any given time. The redundant ports offer sub-second failover for the primary ports. Full Layer 3 software includes OSPF RIP IPX and multicast functionality. All Extreme Summit switches are managable via Telnet HTTP SNMP RMON and local terminal connections. (Summit48 Single PSU, Full L3)
