Adaptive DPCM (ADPCM) is a variant of DPCM that varies the size of the quantization step, to allow further reduction of the required bandwidth for a given signal-to-noise ratio.

Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation.A technique of translating analog sound into digital format that takes less computer memory than the regular pulse code modulation used by audio CDs.It is used on the Sony minidisk, and for CD-ROMs which have images and other data as well as sound.ADPCM takes rapid samples of sound and translates them into binary code, but instead of coding an absolute measurement at every sample point, it codes the difference between samples.

No matter if you need to know "what is ADPCM", the definition of a "ADPCM", or the meaning of a "ADPCM", you can find it here at Network Liquidators. There's quite a bit of information out there to learn, and it all starts by you having the initiative to seek out that information.

We hope this definition of ADPCM was what you were looking for and appreciate your visit and welcome you back anytime.
