Cisco IPS Specialist can operate and monitor Cisco IOS Software and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) technologies to prevent, understand, and respond to intrusion attempts. As a prerequisite for this certification, you must have a valid CCNA certification. You also must pass the required exams to obtain your certification: 642-551 SND and 642-532 IPS exam. Cisco IPS Specialist certifications are valid for 2 years. Recertification requires you to either pass the current version of the exam or pass a CCIE written exam.
