
Cisco CCNP CertificationThe Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks for enterprise organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. The CCNP certifications emphasize topics such as security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.
There are two routes one can go to obtain CCNP certification. First, one must take and pass the following exams: 642-801 BSCI, 642-811 BCMSN, 642-821 BCRAN, and 642-831 CIT. The second route one can take includes the following exams: 642-891 Composite, 642-821 BCRAN, and 642-831 CIT. CCNP certifications are valid for 3 years. In order to recertify, either pass the 642-891 exam, or pass both the 642-811 BCMSN and 642-801 BSCI exams. You may also pass a CCIE written exam to recertify.
